(8) School started 2 weeks ago

I’m glad to tell you that school officially started 2 weeks ago and is off to a great start. We have just over 80 students, with a few more still trickling in. We have 18 boarding students, so they live on property in the dorms. The students range from P1-P5 (which is about 5 years old to 12 years old at most). I've started observing in the classrooms and am enjoying it. We have church service in one of the classrooms on Sundays. The headmaster, Olivia, and I have talked about starting a children’s choir to help lead worship at church and to give the kids more opportunity to learn the songs and develop skills outside of school. It will be a great opportunity for us to get involved as well. One of the teachers will lead it and we’ll help.

Every day after school the kids get a few hours to run around and relax. We've already torn the stitching out of our soccer ball, but they’re still using it. The football is also a hit. We had a Frisbee ring, which has also been broken already. We put some duct tape around it and they’re making it work. It doesn’t fly the same way, but they don’t seem to mind.

Troy especially looks forward to 4:30 when the kids get out of school and he can go play with them!

I wear a skirt ALL the time, but the one time I was caught outside the house in Capri's, the moment was too sweet not to capture on film. I had a great time teaching "Miss Mary Mack"
