Our first time at the dentist

Another first for you! We already planned to find a local dentist to get our regular cleanings and such, but we had to find them more promptly. Troy had a tooth that had been loose for some time but at his last visit in the states, they opted not to pull it. Well it appeared to be going bad and wasn't coming out. Floyd tried to pull it and it broke, with some remaining in the gums.

I called the dentist that another westerner had recommended for us and they squeezed him in the following day. Not being sure of where we were going and with traffic always being unpredictable, we left plenty early. We arrived just over an hour early. I checked in to make sure we had the right place and told them we'd come back closer to our time.

They said it wouldn't be necessary and actually took Troy in within 10 minutes of our arrival.
The office was pretty modern and they were very friendly.

They checked him out, did a full cleaning, and removed the tooth fragments.

The biggest difference I noticed is that Troy had to go out the back door and across to another building for his x-rays.
Overall, it was an excellent experience. Troy said it was the best dental appointment he's ever had. I scheduled cleanings for the rest of us at the end of April.

On a side note, the entire appointment with x-rays, cleaning, and extraction cost about $85 US dollars. Of course, with airfare, you won't save much, but if you're coming to see us anyway, you can score some affordable dental care. We even know people who have had root canals and other things done here. ;)
