living in a construction zone

With school out for a one month holiday, we took the opportunity to get a lot of work done on the house. Living in a partially finished home for 3 months was not as bad as one might think, but we didn't want to go into the 2nd term still dealing with lots of unfinished construction. One day, I shot a video to show just what all was happening at the same time. Here you go:

In addition to what you see here, the bathroom tile has been repaired, some curtains are done, and some areas for recreation are going to be ready for the kids to return next week.

The fence is now finished.

I wish I had a finished picture because the driveway passage is great!

The roofer I mentioned also had to go up on top of the house the next day. I'm not sure that I'd want that job. He climbed all the way up, hammering and working as he went.

Unforunately, while he was still up there, those clouds above grew quite large and brought a good little storm. Everyone was running under the verandah when I said, "isn't the roofer up there?!" Lightning and a metal roof are not good playmates.

He was trying to get the ladder situated to come down, but the wind and rain were not giving him any cooperation. Fortunately, the StanClan children are not afraid of a little water, especially for a good cause. (It was heavier than it looks.)

Of course, every little boy wants to be a man and get in on the work.

Edgar wanted to make that slasher go, but he just didn't have enough force.

Big brother Andrew had to step in and give him a hand.
