Counting down... (with a short video)

Today we got to spend time in each classroom in the children's ministry at our church. Christ Fellowship, in McKinney, supports Wells of Joy in many ways. One of them is through the children. When a child brings an offering to church with them, they put it in a little bucket in their classroom. All of that money is collected and put towards feeding and providing for the kids at our school in Uganda.

Today, we got to tell the kids thank you and show them some pictures of where their money has gone. We also got to answer all their questions and teach them a song. We taught them a worship song that our students sing very frequently. Here is a short video of our kids in Uganda singing the song.

Now, we're preparing for a very big weekend! On Friday, we head back to Uganda. We will actually be traveling until late Sunday due to the airline changes (read this if you don't know about the airline changes - we were part of the passengers that already had booked flights). We were given four options to get back home and we chose the least difficult one, which still involves 3 flights, and an over night stay in Abu Dhabi. So, the travel will be long.

While we're traveling something exciting will be happening for our students. Our Child Sponsorship program will get it's official launch. We've already had a handful of folks step up to sponsor a child, which we are so grateful for, particularly friends from Living Springs Fellowship in Prosper. This weekend will be a big opportunity.

If you're familiar with a Christmas Angel Tree, you might know that they will begin appearing now that it's November. At Christ Fellowship, they'll be adding some new things to their tree. There will be tags that ask folks to make a one-time financial gift to Wells of Joy. These will be in 4 different dollar amounts: $10, $25, $50, or $100. These financial gifts will go to some of our upcoming needs like lanterns & fuel, malaria testing & treatment kits, dorm supplies, classroom teacher supplies, playground equipment, and construction of a kitchen/dining facility.

In addition to these tags, there will be 150 tags on the tree offering the opportunity to sponsor a child at our school. The person can give the entire sponsorship for a year up front or set up a monthly sponsorship. They can also choose whether they want to be a silent sponsor, just giving financially and receiving info about the child but not communicating directly, or to be a connected sponsor, giving financial support and communicating with the child a few times throughout the year.

These sponsorships are our greatest need because they are the only way that the majority of children will get to come to school. We have 90 kids in our school currently, but I have hundreds of kids on a waiting list wanting to come but needing financial help. If we got enough sponsors, we could have all of our classrooms full next year, which would be 240-260 students.

The great thing is that a sponsorship is such a low cost that it really is attainable for many folks here in the US. To fully sponsor a boarding student, it is $432 a year - that's $36 a month! To fully sponsor a day student, it is $264 a year - that's $22 a month!

PLEASE join us in praying that God will provide these necessary sponsorships. If you are interested in sponsoring a child yourself, please just shoot me an email or visit our website, www.WellsofJoyUganda.org . Our full website is under construction but everything you need to know is on there already. You can also just go take a tag off the Angel Tree at Christ Fellowship any Sunday for the next 3 weeks and you'll get instructions there.

The other thing you can do is help us spread the word. Many of our friends are on our financial support team and really can't take on sponsoring a child, but everyone can spread the word. I know that there are plenty of people out there that would love to get involved with a ministry where they can see the direct benefit - they just need someone to tell them about the ministry. So, help us tell them!

If you read this far, you rock! Thank you for joining us on the journey!! May we bring Him glory!
