down by the river (and a football game)

The boys had their end of season soccer tournament last weekend, so Floyd and I had a lot of time alone. On the second day, we decided to go over to the riverside for dinner. Floyd had been to a meeting at a restaurant on that side, so he took me there.
We took a rickshaw to get there, which is dual purpose if you are trying to get that wind-blown look for your hair. :)

My view was great, in more ways than one.

Then we spent time walking on the river front. This is looking toward the city side.

And this is toward the river side.
The AIM retail store is on that side, so we popped in their as well, but it was just about closing time.
The boys called to tell us that they had won their game, so they would have 2 more games. The last one wasn't going to start until 9pm. Also, the taco truck had ran out of food and already left. The taco truck is pretty much the only food option, so that meant they wouldn't have any food. It was just after 6, so they still had several hours to go and 2 more games.
We decided to get them some food and take a tuktuk over to the game. It was a bit far but we finally found a driver that agreed to take us there (he didn't know where it was, but I could guide him).
A little restaurant on the river had their sandwiches at 50% off since it was getting late, so that was a great score. The boys were excited when we came with food and it was great to hand out for the remaining games (the girls team also had a game in between the boy's game times, so we watched it too).

Fortunately, there was room on the bus for us to catch a ride back (the school is about an hour from the house, so we were about half way at the river side). The ride was full of teen-age boy smells, but we were grateful for the free ride. :)
